Plans for a New Rottingdean Community Sports Club
Our existing clubhouse is no longer fit for purpose (too few changing rooms, poorly shaped social area, no ladies facilities), is beyond economic repair and can longer support the thriving junior and senior sections and the future of cricket in Rottingdean and other stakeholders who use the facility.
So to ensure this rich heritage of sport continues, we have a vision to create a new sporting legacy that will help attract more players, other clubs to use the facilities and provide attractive usable space for the broader local community for many years to come.
Over the last year the committee have been working with architects Crowther Associates to create a building design that befits and respects the outstanding landscape of the South Downs National Park whilst providing all the facilities we need. We have also liaised with Brighton and Hove Council who have indicated that they will provide a long lease to facilitate the development and fundraising of the project.
Below are some of the plans that have been submitted to pre planning at The South Downs National Park and a link to the pre planning application and Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment. - pre planning application.

We now face the massive challenge of funding the building through grants, sponsorship and donations in 2022, and despite the negative impact of COVID-19, it has also shown how important community is and how the Deans community comes together and will find ways to raise the necessary funds.
